Dichotomies

I am trained to give advice. I am, in fact, paid to do so. I am paid to talk. I write this, recognizing the irony, because when I work through Essence Intelligence, I find I speak less, not more. It's in Essence that we hold all wisdom, and it is also through Essence that we recognize everyone holds infinite wisdom. When I am in a state of "flow" with my work (versus illusory attempts at controlling outcomes) I find myself listening more and offering up much less advice or direction. The difficult part is getting out of my own way, of course. On those magical occasions when I succeed, I find myself recognizing the Essence in another (person or group). In standing witness to that Essence, I create space for it to emerge. Each individual, each group, has its own Essence Intelligence. My job is to create a safe environment for its myriad forms of expression. When this happens, teacher becomes student. Silence becomes more potent than words. The questions themselves become answers.
